 "Hotel Shirakabaso" is ideally located in the ski resort of Shiga Kogen. The nearest ski area and a cable car station are only a three-minute walk from the hotel.

Our baths are onsen baths (baths with hot spring water) and there are roten-buros (outdoor baths) and private baths that are freely available to our guests.

Shiga Kogen is one of the largest ski resorts in Japan and noted for its powder snow. The wild snow monkeys at Jigokudai Yaen Koen Park are famous for their hilarious winter visits to hot springs. From our hotel it is located 15 minutes by bus and 30 minutes on foot.
Shiga Kogen is famous not only for skiing but also for scenic forests and lakes. It is located in the heart of Nagano Joshinetsu National Park with full of natural wonders. Many kinds of birds and flowers are seen in this area. From early summer to fall, trails are open. Hike to the lakes and summits and discover the beauty of Shiga Kogen. A great diversity of hiking trails will satisfy any hikers from serious to casual.
During the non-skiing season (from early summer to late fall), hiking is the most popular activity. Also, fishing and boating can be enjoyed during this season.
