    Free parking for up to 30 vehicles is available near the main entrance or adjacent to the building. No reservation is required.
    For guests arriving by motorcycle, covered parking is available. Please contact us in advance.

  • Gas Stations

    The nearest gas station is located about a 20-minute drive downhill from the property. Please note that there are no gas stations within the Shiga Kogen area.
    For early morning or late-night refueling, a 24-hour gas station is available approximately 7 km from the Shinshu-Nakano IC, just past the AEON shopping center on the way toward Shiga Kogen.

  • Tire Chain Regulations

    During peak periods such as the New Year holidays, long weekends, and busy mornings, tire chain regulations may be enforced.
    When chain controls are in place, a checkpoint will be set up, and all vehicles are required to fit tire chains except for four-wheel-drive vehicles equipped with four winter (studless) tires.

  • Shiga Kogen Route Information

    The Shiga Kogen Route is typically closed from mid-November to late April each year. In the event of snowfall, the road may be closed regardless of the scheduled period. For the latest updates, please check the official website of the Shiga Kogen Tourism Association.

Please note: When traveling by car during the winter season, be cautious of icy road conditions.

by Train or Bus

From JR Nagano Station, direct buses to Shiga Kogen are available from the East Exit bus terminal (Platforms 23 or 24).
Alternatively, take the Nagano Dentetsu Line from JR Nagano Station to the terminal station Yudanaka, then transfer to a local bus bound for Shiga Kogen.

Nearby Attractions

In addition to activities in Shiga Kogen, there are many popular sightseeing spots nearby, including Jigokudani Monkey Park and SORA terrace, as well as a variety of attractions in the Northern Nagano area, such as Zenkoji Temple and Obuse.

  • Jigokudani Monkey Park

    World-famous for its bathing monkeys, the park is known for the charming and humorous sight of snow monkeys relaxing in hot springs. It is about a 25-minute walk from Kamibayashi Onsen.

  • Sora Terrace

    Take a ropeway ride up to the terrace at an elevation of 1,770 meters, where you can enjoy stunning sunsets and, on lucky days, a breathtaking sea of clouds.

  • Togakushi Shrine

    A renowned spiritual power spot, Togakushi Shrine is also famous for its traditional Togakushi soba, a local specialty enjoyed by visitors from all over Japan.

  • Zenkoji Temple

    One of Japan’s most important temples, Zenkoji is famous for the Okaidan Meguri, an experience where visitors walk through a dark passage beneath the main hall. It is said that touching the sacred key along the way brings enlightenment and a path to paradise.

  • Obuse

    A charming town famous for chestnuts, Obuse is where the renowned ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai spent his later years during the Edo period. In addition to the Hokusai Museum, visitors can admire impressive works such as the magnificent ceiling painting at Gansho-in Temple.

  • Karuizawa

    A popular resort town known for its literary heritage, Karuizawa is home to memorials of famous writers and natural attractions such as Shiraito Falls. The Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza is also a recommended destination for shopping and leisure.
